About Matthew W. Hall

Matthew W. Hall is an author of practical non-fiction and thoughtful crime fiction.

Drawing on a life shaped by service, leadership, resilience and change, his non-fiction explores how people can find greater clarity, build resilience and navigate difficult transitions without losing sight of who they are.

His books combine lived experience, practical psychology and honest reflection. He does not write as a guru with all the answers, but as someone walking alongside the reader, pointing out the landmarks that helped him find his own way.

Alongside his practical guides, Matthew is developing the Barlow and Goldy mystery series, set in the fictional English village of Palus Magna, where quiet landscapes, complicated people and well-kept secrets provide fertile ground for murder.

Much of his work begins in a potting shed at the bottom of the garden, usually with coffee nearby and Barney, his rescued hound, supervising proceedings.

His Letters From The Potting Shed are monthly short essays reflecting on aspects of writing, life and things he has noticed along the way.

Practical books. Thoughtful stories.

Coffee, dogs and noticing things.
